St. Timothy Award for Outstanding Peer Mentor

Named after St. Timothy, companion and helper to St. Paul, this award recognizes an outstanding current or former peer mentor from each of the four diocesan high schools (PVI, DJO, BI, JPG). These students are committed to supporting individuals with disabilities and improving their academic and social outcomes, making a meaningful impact on their mentees and inspiring other peers to embrace people with disabilities.

  • How does this peer mentor engage with his or her mentee in a way that fosters the mentee’s independence and confidence?

  • How does the peer mentor help students with disabilities feel like an integral part of their school?

  • How does this peer mentor foster a culture of inclusion and belonging in the school?

  • Does the peer mentor’s commitment to disability inclusion extend beyond the school-related activities?
