Founded in 2009, Porto Charities is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization dedicated to building a culture of true belonging for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities by increasing their educational, employment, and community engagement opportunities within the Catholic Diocese of Arlington.

 

Through Grants and Advocacy programs, Porto Charities has supported the creation and expansion of inclusive education services at Catholic Schools. To date, Porto Charities has awarded more than $1,500,000 in grants to Diocesan schools serving students with disabilities.

 

Porto Charities is also committed to helping young adults secure meaningful employment. To date, Porto has facilitated the employment of over 25 young adults with disabilities at schools, parishes, and the Chancery through the PortoWorks employment initiative.

Journalists, project partners, and recipients who wish to acknowledge Porto Charities in online or printed materials are welcome to use either version of our logo.
