Porto Charities launched educational webinars to the public in 2021, with the aim of  providing resources for families, educators and employers.

At Porto Charities, we are creating a more inclusive future one webinar at a time. Whether you are a teacher, an administrator, a parent or a self-advocate, you will find something to interest you here. Our video library is growing and we hope to provide even more varied content in the future.

Inclusive education and employment is simple, but it’s not easy. Teachers and potential employers need training, on-going coaching and support as the needs of their students and employees evolve and change. At Porto Charities we hope to build partnerships with local experts to facilitate training to educators and potential employers, as well as for people with disabilities and their advocates.

In partnership with the Diocese of Arlington, Porto Charities will be facilitating its 1st training to educators in our Diocesan Schools in 2023. 

Raising awareness while having fun: Porto hosts events exclusively to bring our Porto community together to celebrate our loved ones with disability, while raising awareness of inclusion.

From picnics, to Christmas, to Valentine's celebrations, Porto Charities is the perfect organizer of events where our loved ones with disabilities are the main guest and always have a great time. 

We also host events in partnership with Diocesan Scouting Troops. Contact us about activities to include individuals with disabilities in your service projects.

Porto Charities created the 1st conference on disability in the Diocese of Arlington titled “From Inclusion to Belonging: Embracing disability as part of the church.” The aim of this conference is to encourage parents, educators, pastors and directors of religious education to consider how individuals with disabilities can go from being included to belonging in a parish and its ministries.

We partner with the Diocese of Arlington, as well as a school in our Diocese to co-host this conference. We partnered with Bishop O'Connell HS for the 1st conference and will be partnering with John Paul the Great HS for our 2nd Conference, scheduled for February 2024.
