Make a Meaningful Impact in your Commmunity
Inspired by the fundraising idea from Tony Stafford at Ford's Fish Shack, Porto Charities invites businesses in Northern Virginia to donate a small portion of their sales to the Porto Charities Scholarship Fund.
What is the Business Fundraiser Challenge?
Local businesses are encouraged to identify one item from their products, and donate to Porto a portion from the sales of that product. Every 3, 6, or 12 months, the business will send a check to Porto Charities towards the Scholarship Fund.
The Porto Charities Educator Scholarship provides financial support for teachers and instructional assistants in the Diocese of Arlington who take courses to teach students with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The awardees must agree to continue working for the Diocese of Arlington for a minimum of twelve months. As this program develops we anticipate awards will be made in the range of $250 - $5,000.
