Dear Friends in Christ,

At Porto Charities, we believe every child of God deserves a place to belong. We invite you to join us in our mission to provide children and young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities the opportunity to receive an inclusive Catholic education, find meaningful employment, and experience true belonging within our community.

While the desire for inclusive opportunities in the Catholic Diocese of Arlington is growing, many of our schools and parishes still lack the resources to meet this need. Your support helps us bridge that gap.

Please join us in person on Friday, April 24, 2026, for Embrace: The 4th Annual Porto Charities Advocacy Awards Gala.

This evening, we will celebrate those who have made a profound impact on inclusion. We are honored to present Advocacy Awards to an outstanding Educator, Employer, Peer Mentor, School, and Self-Advocate. In addition, we will present the Catalyst Award to Susan Rinaldi for her visionary leadership and lifelong dedication to inclusive Catholic education.

The evening’s program will feature an awards ceremony presented by the Most Rev. Michael F. Burbidge, Bishop of Arlington, and Leo Alonso, President of Porto Charities, followed by dinner and dancing.

Ticket and sponsorship opportunities are available on this page. If you are unable to attend, we would be deeply grateful for your prayers and financial support.

Thank you for your commitment to all of God’s children. May the Holy Spirit embrace you for your generous heart.
