It's here! It's here! Advent is beginning!
Did we start our day with such exclamations of excitement? Did we run down the stairs as a child often does on Christmas morning with all of the anticipation of the packages and glitter to be found under a tree?
Maybe we should have.
Today’s readings encourage us to go, rejoicing as we do, to the house of the Lord; to always be prepared for the unknown day and hour when our Lord will come.
Challenge yourself to seize each day of the Advent season that is now in front of us and recognize this period as it is meant to be - one filled with an excitement of hope and yet also the calm of being fully prepared.
Prepare with the excitement of a child and the calm of the wise. Light the first candle and bask in the light of hope. Ponder how you will awaken your heart and put on the armor of light such that the path and journey of Advent are lit for both you and others today and well beyond this particular season of the Church.
